Fourth of July

For the fourth, we headed out to the Flying L Guest Ranch in Bandera. We heard they had a great toddler friendly water park and a golf course, so I knew both of my boys would be happy with staying there!

I really didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked, but we were too busy having fun!

We had a private one room cabin. It was so cute! We loved it. This morning though when John left for golf and me and Cohen were in bed, a black spider ran across the bed! Yikes!

After we checked in, we took a walk around the grounds and saw many cool things to do. Then we headed to the cabin for a quick nap, woke up and went straight to the water park for several hours before dinner.

They had a Putt putt course adjacent to the waterpark so while they golfed, mommy spent some time floating the lazy river by myself. I have to say, Cohen is really taking a liking to golf!

After dinner, we went on a sunset tractor ride. The tractor pulled a long trailer with seats. We rode down to the creek, fed the fish, went to the Ghost Town, and enjoyed the nice breeze and all the wildlife.

When we got back to the hotel area, we went to make s'mores! Cohen liked making them, but didn't like eating them.

We ordered some smoothies and headed to the real putting green.

We got a great night's rest. I scheduled a 7:00 am tee time for Daddy. It was neat because our cabin overlooked the first hole, and we got to watch him finish the first hole.

Cohen and I went to breakfast and met John at the ninth hole where we hopped in the cart. I thought we'd only last one hole but we rode around the whole back nine with him. Cohen had a blast and got to putt on each hole.

We quickly checked out of our cabin and headed back to the pool. We ordered lunch and swam for an hour before a major meltdown. Cohen was so exhausted. We knew it was time to head home! We all took a great nap! It was such a nice little quick get away!

  1. We celebrated my Grandparents-in-law's wedding anniversary there with the whole family when Scout was about the same age as Cohen. SO fun.
